The Government of India has appointed Shri Avinash Purushottam Das Joshi, IAS (1994: Assam-Meghalaya cadre) as the new Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).
Prior to this appointment, Shri Joshi was serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT). A seasoned civil servant with over three decades of experience, he has held several key administrative positions across sectors and is widely recognized for his strategic leadership and governance acumen.
In his new role, Shri Joshi will be responsible for steering the Ministry’s efforts in promoting food processing industries, enhancing value addition in the agri-food sector, supporting farmers, and accelerating the growth of India’s food economy in alignment with the Government’s vision of self-reliant and sustainable development.
The Ministry looks forward to his leadership in driving innovation, investment, and inclusive growth within the food processing ecosystem.
