Energy Industry Leader Takes on Expanded Executive Responsibilities at ATGL
Ravindra Desai has been promoted to Vice President at Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL), marking a significant milestone in his leadership journey within the company. The promotion comes just a year after he joined ATGL as Associate Vice President and Head of Gas Sourcing and Business Development.
The elevation of Ravindra Desai Adani Total Gas reflects the company’s continued focus on strengthening leadership as it expands its natural gas infrastructure, sourcing capabilities, and market presence amid India’s accelerating energy transition.
Leading Strategic Growth Across Key Business Functions
In his expanded role, Desai will continue to lead three critical business areas including gas sourcing, business development, and channel management.
These functions play a pivotal role in supporting ATGL’s growth strategy, ensuring secure energy supplies, expanding customer reach, and strengthening the company’s position in India’s rapidly evolving gas distribution sector.
His leadership is expected to contribute toward scalable infrastructure development, deeper market penetration, and long-term business growth.
Extensive Experience Across LNG, Natural Gas and Energy Trading
Before joining Adani Total Gas in January 2025, Desai served as Deputy General Manager at Petronet LNG Limited, where he led LNG sourcing, supply optimization, capacity utilization, and infrastructure development initiatives across the company’s Dahej and Kochi terminals.
During his tenure, he was involved in long-term LNG sourcing strategies, spot procurement, domestic supply arrangements, and the development of bunkering and gas utilization projects. He also played a key role in establishing Petronet LNG Singapore Private Limited and supporting the company’s international operations.
His experience spans LNG procurement, supply chain optimization, infrastructure planning, contract negotiations, and market development.
Strong Trading and Commercial Leadership Background
Prior to Petronet LNG, Desai spent 16 years with Reliance Industries Limited, where he held multiple leadership positions across LNG trading, LPG and naphtha trading, refinery planning, scheduling, and operations.
As Senior Trader LNG, he managed large-scale LNG procurement and supply operations, executed structured international LNG transactions, optimized fuel sourcing strategies, and developed commercial frameworks for domestic and international markets.
His career also includes extensive experience in refinery planning, vessel operations, energy logistics, commodity trading, and supply chain management.
