(HCL) has announced the appointment of Sanjiv Kumar Singhas its new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). His tenure will extend until his superannuation on June 30, 2026.Before assuming this top position, Singh served as Director (Mining) at HCL, where he played a key role in strengthening the company’s mining operations and project expansions.
He was selected for the CMD post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) after a rigorous selection process.An experienced mining professional, Singh holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Open Cast Mining from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, along with an MBA in Finance from BIT Mesra.
With over three decades of experience in the mining sector, he has been instrumental in mine planning, design, and project execution. Before joining HCL, he contributed significantly to organizations like NTPC Limited and CMPDIL, specializing in mine operations and policy development.Under his leadership, Hindustan Copper Limited, India’s only vertically integrated copper producer, is expected to further enhance its operational efficiency and production capacity. His appointment comes at a crucial time as the company looks to expand its mining capabilities and strengthen its role in India’s growing industrial sector.
