In a historic development, senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Sonali Mishra is set to take over as the Director General of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), becoming the first woman to lead the central armed force responsible for the security of Indian Railways.
An officer of the 1988 batch from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Sonali Mishra brings with her over three decades of distinguished service across intelligence, law enforcement, and security administration. Known for her integrity, operational acumen, and people-first leadership, she has held several key positions in central and state agencies, earning high regard for her work in national security and public safety.
Sonali Mishra’s appointment marks a significant milestone in the journey of gender inclusion in India’s security forces.
