Subhashis Basu has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Britannia Industries Limited – Bel Foods Private Limited and Chief Business Officer for Dairy at Britannia Industries Limited, effective December 2025. His expanded leadership role places him in charge of Britannia’s entire dairy business, including the cheese joint venture with France-based Bel Group, while also joining the Executive Committee of Britannia Industries Limited.
In his new mandate, Subhashis Basu will focus on scaling Britannia’s dairy portfolio, strengthening market presence, driving operational excellence, and accelerating long-term growth across value-added dairy categories. His appointment reflects Britannia’s strategic intent to deepen its footprint in the fast-growing dairy and cheese segments.
Prior to joining Britannia, Subhashis Basu was associated with the Lactalis Group, where he served as Chief Commercial Director for India and Chief Executive Officer of Anik Milk Products. During his tenure, he led business integration and growth initiatives across Lactalis’ India operations, strengthening market position and operational capabilities.
Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Prataap Snacks Limited, where he managed a ₹14 billion P&L, played a key role in the company’s initial public offering, and led diversification and mergers and acquisitions initiatives. His leadership contributed to business scale-up and portfolio expansion during a critical growth phase.
His professional journey also includes senior leadership roles at Mother Dairy Fruit and Vegetable Private Limited, PepsiCo, Tân Hiệp Phát Group, and Parle Products. With experience spanning FMCG, dairy, beverages, and large-scale consumer businesses, Subhashis Basu Britannia Bel Foods appointment positions the company to further strengthen its dairy strategy and long-term value creation agenda.
