The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has assigned V. Srinivas, IAS (Rajasthan cadre, 1989 batch), the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
This interim arrangement will be in effect from September 5 to September 14, 2025, during the absence of the incumbent Secretary, Rachna Shah, IAS (Kerala cadre, 1991 batch), who is currently on leave.
Shri Srinivas is a senior civil servant with more than three decades of administrative experience. He is presently serving as Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Department of Pensions & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions. In his current roles, he has been instrumental in driving governance reforms, digital transformation initiatives, and pensioner welfare programmes, aligning with the government’s broader vision of administrative efficiency and citizen-centric service delivery.
With this additional charge, Shri Srinivas will be overseeing one of the Government of India’s most critical departments responsible for personnel management, cadre allocation, training of civil servants, and formulation of HR policies for the Central Government workforce.
