Vivek Jaiswal Takes Charge as CMD of ECIL, Bringing Telecom Expertise to the Top Role

Vivek Jaiswal, ITS, has assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) and Director (Technical) of Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), a Miniratna CPSE under the Department of Atomic Energy. He took charge on August 19, 2026.

Jaiswal brings more than three decades of experience across telecommunications, electronics, instrumentation, technology, business development and public-sector management. His career includes key assignments with BSNL, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and ONGC.

He holds a B.E. in Electronics & Instrumentation from SATI Vidisha and an MBA from IIM Lucknow, along with executive programmes from IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad and ESCP Europe. He has also been honoured with the Vishistha Sanchar Sewa Padak for his contribution to the telecommunications sector.

During his career, Jaiswal has handled large-scale operations and strategic responsibilities, including P&L portfolios exceeding ₹1,000 crore, enterprise business development and major technology projects such as nationwide optical fibre rollouts and mission-critical networks.

At ECIL, Jaiswal is expected to leverage his expertise in technology-led innovation, business development, project execution and stakeholder management to support the company’s growth and strengthen its position in strategic electronics and technology solutions.

His appointment marks a significant leadership transition for ECIL and brings extensive telecom and technology-sector experience to the company’s top executive position.
