The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shri A. Anbarasu, IAS, as Additional Secretary & Director General (Acquisition), Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
In this capacity, Shri Anbarasu will oversee critical functions relating to defence procurement, acquisition planning, and modernization of the armed forces. His mandate will include ensuring transparency, efficiency, and alignment of acquisition processes with the long-term strategic objectives of national security and defence preparedness.
The appointment reflects the Government’s continued focus on strengthening the defence acquisition framework and accelerating indigenisation and self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative in defence production.
