Senior bureaucrat Anand Kishor, IAS (1996 batch, Bihar cadre), currently serving as Principal Secretary, Finance Department, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (DEFCC), Government of Bihar.
Anand Kishor has had a distinguished career in public administration, having held several key positions across governance, finance, education, and infrastructure. Known for his strategic decision-making, strong administrative skills, and reform-driven approach, he has consistently contributed to strengthening the state’s institutional framework.
In his new responsibility at DEFCC, Kishor will oversee critical areas of environmental sustainability, forest conservation, and climate change mitigation, which are central to Bihar’s long-term development goals. His dual charge reflects the state government’s confidence in his ability to balance fiscal management with environmental stewardship, ensuring that developmental growth is aligned with sustainability imperatives.
