The Government of Bihar has announced the appointment of S Siddharth, IAS (1991 batch), as the new Development Commissioner of Bihar. A seasoned civil servant, he is currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat & Education Department, where he has been instrumental in shaping key policy decisions and strengthening the state’s governance framework.
Over his career spanning more than three decades, Siddharth has held several pivotal administrative roles in Bihar, contributing to sectors such as infrastructure, finance, and education. Known for his strategic acumen, reform-oriented approach, and commitment to inclusive development, he has played a crucial role in driving large-scale initiatives aimed at improving governance and service delivery in the state.
As Development Commissioner, Siddharth will be responsible for steering Bihar’s developmental agenda, coordinating across departments, and ensuring effective execution of flagship programs. His leadership is expected to give further momentum to Bihar’s growth trajectory, with a focus on sustainable development, investment facilitation, and social welfare.
