Anish Dayal Singh Appointed as Deputy National Security Advisor

Senior IPS officer Anish Dayal Singh has been appointed as the Deputy National Security Advisor (Deputy NSA), marking a significant addition to India’s national security leadership.

A 1988-batch IPS officer of the Manipur cadre, Singh has held several critical assignments in his distinguished career. He earlier served as the Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), where he played a key role in strengthening border management and operational preparedness along India’s northern frontiers.

As Deputy NSA, Singh will support the National Security Advisor in strategic planning, policy formulation, and coordination on issues relating to national security, internal stability, and regional cooperation. His appointment reflects the government’s emphasis on leveraging experienced leadership to navigate evolving security challenges.
