Bank of Baroda has appointed Amith C Shetty as Regional Head for the Kalaburagi region, strengthening its leadership presence across the Kalyana Karnataka belt.
In his new role, Shetty will oversee banking operations across seven districts — Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Vijayapura, and Bagalkot — while managing a network of 53 branches and leading more than 400 employees.
Focus on Retail, MSME and Agriculture Growth
As Regional Head, Shetty’s core mandate includes accelerating growth across retail banking products including housing loans, vehicle loans, personal loans, gold loans, and education financing.
A major focus area will also be strengthening MSME and agriculture lending portfolios through initiatives such as:
- Working capital financing
- MSME term loans
- Kisan Credit Card (KCC) expansion
- Agri-infrastructure financing
- PMEGP and MUDRA scheme implementation
- Allied agriculture activity financing including dairy, poultry, and horticulture
The role also involves deepening Government CASA relationships with district-level departments, PSUs, and local bodies while improving digital banking adoption in semi-urban and rural markets.
Leading Regional Banking Operations Across Kalyana Karnataka
Shetty will be responsible for driving overall regional P&L, business growth, asset quality, and compliance operations for the Kalaburagi region.
His responsibilities include:
- Managing retail asset expansion
- Scaling MSME and agriculture credit portfolios
- Monitoring and reducing NPAs
- Strengthening recovery mechanisms
- Ensuring implementation of flagship government schemes
- Coordinating with district administration and banking committees
- Mentoring 53 branch managers and 400+ employees
The position also requires close coordination with district authorities, NABARD officials, Lead District Managers, and district-level bankers’ committees to support financial inclusion and regional economic development.
Previous Leadership Roles at Bank of Baroda
Prior to this appointment, Amith C Shetty served as Assistant General Manager and Deputy Regional Head at Bank of Baroda, overseeing operations across more than 50 branches spanning Mumbai Metro West, North Region, and Puttur in Karnataka.
During this tenure, he led initiatives related to:
- Operational efficiency
- Branch administration
- Retail and MSME lending growth
- Risk and compliance management
- NPA recovery strategies
- Digital lending campaigns
- Financial inclusion programs
Earlier, as Regional Credit Head, he spearheaded MSME, retail, and agriculture loan portfolio expansion across a network of 58 branches while building strategic partnerships with developers and channel partners for project finance and home loan growth.
Over 17 Years of Banking Experience
Before the Vijaya Bank and Bank of Baroda merger, Shetty spent more than a decade at Vijaya Bank in multiple leadership roles including Senior Branch Manager and Branch Manager.
Throughout his banking career, he has handled:

His extensive experience across regional operations, credit management, retail banking, MSME financing, and agriculture lending positions him strongly for the leadership responsibilities in Kalyana Karnataka.
