New Delhi, September 1, 2025: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Smt. Debashree Mukherjee, a 1991 batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, as the new Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
With an illustrious career spanning over three decades in public administration, Smt. Mukherjee has held several key positions across governance, policy implementation, and institutional development. Known for her result-oriented leadership, she has consistently driven impactful reforms and contributed significantly to strengthening institutional capacities in diverse sectors.
Her appointment comes at a crucial time as India accelerates its skilling agenda to align with the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Leveraging her expertise and commitment, she is expected to lead transformative initiatives aimed at expanding access to skill training, fostering industry partnerships, and empowering India’s youth with future-ready skills to meet evolving global and domestic workforce demands.
