Hemant Verma, a senior banking and technology leader with decades of experience across India’s financial sector, has taken charge as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Punjab & Sind Bank, Central Registry of Securitisation Asset Reconstruction and Security Interest of India (CERSAI), and India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL).
In his new role, Verma will be responsible for overseeing vigilance mechanisms, strengthening governance frameworks, and ensuring adherence to transparency and ethical standards across these critical financial institutions. His appointment reflects the growing emphasis on effective vigilance and compliance as Indian banks and financial entities continue to expand their digital and infrastructure-driven operations.
Prior to this, Hemant Verma has held several senior leadership positions, including Zonal Head and Chief General Manager at Kolkata, where he managed large-scale banking operations with a focus on strategic growth and risk management. He has also served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Punjab National Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce, where he spearheaded technology transformation, digital banking initiatives, and IT governance to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
