Senior IAS officer Pratyaya Amrit has formally taken charge as the new Chief Secretary of Bihar, the highest-ranking bureaucratic position in the state. A 1991-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, he brings with him an extensive career marked by transformative governance, innovative reforms, and impactful public administration.
Prior to this elevation, Pratyaya Amrit served as Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and has held several key portfolios in the Bihar government over the years. Widely recognized for his leadership in infrastructure development, he played a crucial role in revamping Bihar’s road network and power sector, significantly improving efficiency and service delivery.
Known for his result-oriented approach and visionary leadership, he has been instrumental in modernizing governance systems, promoting digital transformation, and ensuring citizen-centric administration.
