Kavinder Gupta was formally sworn in as the new Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh today in Leh. The oath of office was administered by the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in a dignified ceremony held at the Raj Niwas.
Mr. Gupta’s appointment comes following the official notification issued by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, earlier this week. A senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Gupta brings with him a wealth of experience in governance and public administration.
Addressing the gathering after taking charge, Mr. Gupta expressed his commitment to inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and preserving the region’s cultural and ecological heritage.
The ceremony was attended by senior civil and military officials, representatives from the administration, and prominent citizens of Ladakh.
