The Government of Punjab has announced the transfer and appointment of Shri Sandeep Hans, IAS (Punjab cadre, 2010 batch), as the Managing Director of Punjab Information and Communication Technology Corporation Limited (PICTCL). Prior to this posting, he was serving as Director, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, Punjab, where he oversaw welfare-oriented initiatives aimed at strengthening inclusivity and empowerment for disadvantaged sections of society.
A dynamic officer with over a decade of administrative experience, Mr.Hans has played key roles in governance, program implementation, and policy delivery across multiple domains in Punjab. His tenure in the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities was marked by efforts to improve access to welfare schemes, ensure equitable opportunities, and reinforce the state’s commitment to inclusive growth.
In his new role at PICTCL, Hans will be responsible for steering the state’s ICT initiatives, fostering innovation, and expanding Punjab’s digital infrastructure. PICTCL, as the nodal agency for information and communication technology, plays a crucial role in driving digital transformation, e-governance projects, and technology-led development across the state. His leadership is expected to accelerate initiatives aimed at modernizing government services, enhancing connectivity, and promoting Punjab as a hub for technology-driven enterprises.
