Smt. Alka Nangia Arora Assumes Charge as Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA)

Smt. Alka Nangia Arora, a 1991-batch Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer, officially assumed charge as the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) on August 01, 2026.

Smt. Arora brings extensive administrative and financial leadership experience to the role, having previously served in key leadership positions across multiple Union Ministries, including Defence, Agriculture, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and Textiles. Throughout her career, she has made significant contributions to public finance management, defence reforms, and broader national development initiatives.

As CGDA, Smt. Arora will head the Defence Accounts Department (DAD), leading financial management, accounting, and internal audit functions for the Armed Forces and allied organizations under the Ministry of Defence.
