March 27, 2025 – In a major step towards enhancing digital and cashless commuting, Airtel Payments Bank has partnered with the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) Chennai to introduce the Rupay NCMC Singara Chennai Card. This initiative aims to offer a seamless, secure, and hassle-free travel experience for commuters across the city.
The card was officially launched by Tamil Nadu’s Hon’ble Transport Minister, Mr. SS Sivasankar, in the presence of Dr. T. Prabhushankar, MD – MTC, Mr. S. Natarajan, Joint MD – MTC, along with senior officials from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Airtel Payments Bank.

The Rupay NCMC Singara Chennai Card is designed to enable quick and contactless payments on MTC buses, reducing reliance on cash transactions and enhancing commuter convenience.
