Senior Infrastructure Professional Set to Join NBCC Leadership
Ashutosh Gautam has been recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) for the post of Director (Projects) at NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The recommendation of Ashutosh Gautam NBCC Director Projects was made during PESB Meeting No. 47/2026 held on June 16, where candidates from multiple public sector organizations were interviewed for the position.
The appointment will be subject to further approvals from the competent authority as per the prescribed government process.
Currently Serving at Inland Waterways Authority of India
At present, Gautam serves as Member (Technical) at the Inland Waterways Authority of India and additionally holds the charge of Member (Traffic & Logistics).
His current role involves overseeing key technical, logistics, and infrastructure initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s inland waterways ecosystem and multimodal transportation network.
Over Three Decades of Infrastructure Leadership
Gautam brings more than 30 years of experience in transportation and infrastructure development across various sectors.
Before joining IWAI, he held several senior leadership positions at the National Highways Authority of India, including Chairman and Managing Director of Ahmedabad Vadodara Expressway Company Limited (AVEC) and Chief General Manager (Technical).
Over the years, he has gained extensive expertise in highway development, large-scale infrastructure projects, project execution, contract management, toll operations, and transportation planning.
Strong Academic and Professional Credentials
Gautam holds a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from G.B. Pant University, Pantnagar, an M.Tech from IIT Delhi, and an LLB from Kanpur University.
He is also a recipient of the Chancellor’s Gold Medal from Pantnagar University, reflecting his academic excellence.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, he has contributed to knowledge-sharing initiatives as a visiting faculty member at leading institutions, including IITs and IIM Lucknow.
