Fortis Hospital Kalyan launches Kalyan’s first advanced surgical visualization system for neuro‑spine procedures

Fortis Hospital Kalyan has introduced the ZEISS PENTERO 800 S, Kalyan’s first next‑generation surgical visualization system, designed to boost precision in complex neurosurgical and neurospine surgeries. The inauguration was led by Dr. Rakesh Lalla, Additional Director‑Neurology, Dr. Jayesh Sardhara, Director‑MIS Brain & Spine Surgery, Dr. Rushabh Chheda, and Dr. Hemal Chheda, Associate Consultants‑Neurosurgery, and Dr. Ashutosh Pandey, Facility Director, alongside nursing and administrative teams.
The system integrates advanced optics, intraoperative fluorescence imaging, Digital Hybrid Visualization, and 4K 3D/2D recording for superior surgical clarity and workflow efficiency. Surgeons can switch seamlessly between optical and digital 4K 3D views, enhancing maneuvering in deep, narrow anatomical areas. Key features include Depth+ mode for expanded depth of field, micro‑inspection tools for beyond‑line‑of‑sight visualization, and ergonomic functions that reduce setup times.
Dr. Jayesh Sardhara noted the system’s ability to clarify delicate nerves and blood vessels, define tumor margins, and operate confidently in challenging spaces, improving safety and outcomes. The technology supports procedures like cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, brain and spinal tumors, carotid endarterectomy, syringomyelia, complex spinal deformities, microdiscectomy, minimally invasive lumbar interbody fusion, aneurysm clipping, cervical spine corpectomy, carpal tunnel surgery, and more.
