Post-Budget Webinar Breakout Session Advances Scale-up of Allied Health Professionals

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare conducts a breakout session during the post-budget webinar series on March 9, 2026, themed “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling Aspirations of People.” The session focuses on the Union Budget 2026-27 announcement to scale up allied health professionals, bringing together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, academic experts, and state representatives.
Discussions centre on strategies to expand allied healthcare education and strengthen the workforce, addressing shortages in critical roles like radiographers, medical lab technicians, physiotherapists, and operating theatre technicians. Participants explore regulatory frameworks, curriculum standardisation, and public-private partnerships to rapidly increase training capacity across states.
The session emphasises integrating allied health training with district hospitals and medical colleges to create sustainable pipelines. States share models for skill development centres and certification programs, while industry highlights demand for quality-trained professionals in diagnostics, rehabilitation, and emergency care.
