The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Kesavan Ramachandran as Executive Director (ED) with effect from July 1, 2025.
Shri Kesavan Ramachandran was serving as Principal Chief General Manager in Risk Monitoring Department.
In his new role, Mr. Ramachandran will oversee key functions of the central bank, including [insert departments/functions once specified, or keep general: “regulatory policy, banking operations, and internal governance reforms”].
A seasoned central banker, Kesavan Ramachandran brings with him over three decades of experience in banking regulation, supervision, and policy formulation. Prior to this appointment, he served in various leadership capacities within the RBI, contributing significantly to financial sector reforms and strengthening regulatory oversight.
The appointment is in line with the Reserve Bank’s ongoing efforts to build a dynamic and future-ready leadership team to navigate India’s evolving financial landscape.
