On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate and honor the strength, resilience, and leadership of women who continue to shape and transform healthcare and society. In Public Health and Community Medicine, women have emerged as powerful agents of change — serving with distinction as clinicians, researchers, educators, and advocates dedicated to equity, prevention, and compassionate, community-centered care. Their contributions extend far beyond institutional boundaries, nurturing healthier families and building stronger communities through scientific excellence, empathy, and steadfast commitment. I express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all women working in the field of Public Health, whose dedication continues to advance the health and well-being of our society.
As we look ahead, women’s empowerment rests on three essential pillars: education and skill development that cultivate confidence, critical thinking, and leadership; financial independence that provides dignity, security, and the freedom to make informed life choices; and the prioritization of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. When women are educated, economically empowered, and healthy, they strengthen not only themselves but also the entire social and healthcare fabric.
Let us reaffirm our collective commitment to promoting education, skilling, financial independence, and holistic health as the foundation of true, meaningful, and sustainable empowerment.
