QCI Partners with Uttarakhand Government to Boost MSME Competitiveness

In a significant step towards strengthening the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem in Uttarakhand, the Quality Council of India (QCI) has partnered with the Directorate of Industries, Government of Uttarakhand to drive quality interventions through ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) and LEAN programmes.

The collaboration was formalized through an MoU exchange ceremony at the Uttarakhand Udyami Conclave in Dehradun on March 26, 2025. The agreement was signed between Prateek Jain, IAS, DG & Commissioner-Industries, Government of Uttarakhand, and Dr. Ramanand Shukla, Senior Director & Head, ZED Division, Quality Council of India, in the presence of Vinamra Mishra, Director, Ministry of MSME (MoMSME) and other key dignitaries.

Driving Quality & Efficiency in Uttarakhand’s MSMEs

This strategic partnership aims to enhance MSME competitiveness by promoting quality manufacturing, process optimization, and sustainability practices. Through the ZED and LEAN initiatives, MSMEs in Uttarakhand will receive technical support, training, and financial incentives to improve production standards, reduce waste, and adopt globally recognized best practices.

By integrating quality and efficiency-driven interventions, the initiative is set to empower local enterprises, boost industrial growth, and create a more sustainable MSME ecosystem in Uttarakhand. This collaboration reinforces the government’s commitment to making Uttarakhand a hub for high-quality and competitive MSMEs in India.
