Vidya Kailasam Hangal has been appointed as Director of Category Planning and Activation at Mondelēz International, where she will lead category strategy and customer marketing initiatives across channels in the Indian market.
In her new role, Vidya is responsible for shaping category growth strategies, driving activation excellence, and strengthening customer marketing programmes. Her mandate includes integrating digital-first approaches and data-led decision-making to support sustainable business outcomes across modern trade, e-commerce, and emerging channels.
An alumna of XLRI Jamshedpur, Vidya is recognised for combining strong commercial acumen with digitally enabled execution. During her tenure at Mondelēz International, she has held multiple leadership roles across Omnichannel, Organised Trade, E-commerce, and Consumer Digital Transformation, contributing to the company’s evolving go-to-market capabilities.
She has been closely involved in scaling large businesses and driving initiatives related to first-party data, MarTech platforms, and customer experience. Her work has supported the development of integrated activation frameworks and improved effectiveness across customer touchpoints.
Before joining Mondelēz International, Vidya built a strong FMCG foundation at Britannia Industries Limited, where she managed key accounts and brand portfolios. Her early career also includes experience at The Coca-Cola Company, further strengthening her understanding of large-scale consumer brands, distribution networks, and route-to-market strategies.
