Global Leaders Hail India’s AI Leadership at Impact Summit 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the world wholeheartedly praised India’s potential at the recently concluded AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, underscoring how the innovative mindset of the nation’s young tech talents will greatly benefit humanity. Held last week, the summit culminated in the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact, endorsed by 89 countries and international organizations, signaling robust global consensus on harnessing AI for economic growth and societal welfare.
Guided by the theme ‘Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay’ (welfare for all, happiness for all), the event positioned India as a frontrunner in ethical AI deployment, envisioning technology that advances humanity, promotes inclusive development, and protects the planet. It attracted over 500 global AI luminaries, including 100 CEOs and founders, 150 academicians and researchers, and 400 CTOs, VPs, and philanthropists.
Prominent attendees included UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Swiss President Guy Parmelin, and CEOs from top tech firms worldwide. In a Hindi post on X, PM Modi stated, “The entire world wholeheartedly praised India’s potential at the historic AI Summit held in Delhi. This demonstrates that the mindset of our young talents in technology is going to be of great benefit to all of humanity.”
The declaration revolves around seven key pillars, or “Chakras”, covering democratized AI access, economic and social benefits, secure systems, scientific applications, empowerment, human capital development, and resilient infrastructure. It also launched voluntary global initiatives like the Charter for Democratic Diffusion of AI, Global AI Impact Commons, and Trusted AI Commons to broaden affordable access, scale use cases, and ensure reliability.
PM Modi, in his summit address, invited global partners to “Design and Develop in India. Deliver to the World. Deliver to Humanity,” highlighting India’s talent pool, policy clarity, and rapid tech adoption as ideal for scalable AI solutions. The event showcased three new Made-in-India AI models, reinforcing India’s shift from consumer to creator in the AI landscape.
This acclaim validates India’s vision for AI as a global public good, fostering equitable innovation amid its vast demographic and democratic strengths.
