The India AI Impact Summit 2026 enters its fifth and concluding day at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on February 20, 2026, culminating in five days of global deliberations on responsible AI governance, innovation, and societal impact. Today’s agenda features the adoption of the Leaders’ Declaration, a landmark commitment from over 100 countries outlining a shared roadmap for AI governance, infrastructure, and international collaboration under the “People, Planet, Progress” framework. High-level Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Council meetings will review progress on inclusive technology deployment.
The summit, hosted by MeitY under the IndiaAI Mission, has drawn world leaders like
French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and tech
CEOs, including Google’s Sundar Pichai and OpenAI’s Sam Altman.[6] Prime Minister
Narendra Modi inaugurated it, emphasizing ethical AI for public good and India’s “MANAV” vision: Moral, Accountable, National sovereignty, Accessible, Valid.
Highlights include AI Impact Expo with 600+ startups and 13 country pavilions; panels on
employability, judiciary, road safety, agriculture; and announcements like Sarvam AI’s models and BharatGen Param2 multilingual AI. Bihar’s pavilion showcased the state’s AI policies via IIT-Patna’s Centre of Excellence.
Traffic curbs affect Delhi roads due to VVIP movements, with advisories for commuters. Over 200,000 registered participants have engaged despite initial queues.
The event positions India as a Global South AI leader, fostering standards for equitable
deployment amid discussions on jobs, child safety, and supply chains. Outcomes promise
policy blueprints for Viksit Bharat and worldwide progress.
